Do you know the one thing daycare providers crave most of all?
A while ago I sent out a reader survey, which is something I try to do at least once or twice a year. I think it is really important to hear what’s working, what’s not working, what can be improved, and even what should be eliminated altogether here at TCC. It is always very enlightening to see what you all have to say!
But this year I added two questions that I had never asked before. I asked, “what is the biggest source of stress in your life right now,” and “what is the biggest thing you would like to accomplish in the next year.”
Your answers stunned me.
Far and away, the most common answers to the first question about stress were things like “I don’t have enough time” “being too busy” or “too much going on.” But there was one single answer to the second question that blew all the other answers out of the water. Can you guess what it was?
BALANCE.
We’re desperate for it!
And, quite honestly, it is a struggle and a desire I understand all too well. In fact, a few years ago, as I worked on my vision board and sketched out my goals for the new year, balance was a word that came up a lot. So much, even, that I decided to make it my theme for the year.
My primary goal was to develop a tool for myself and TCC readers that could help us achieve this ever-elusive goal of balance and organization. A resource that could not only help us manage our schedule but help us stay focused on our goals, and priorities. It needed to allow us to navigate the day-to-day responsibilities like meal planning, finances, and running our daycare business all in one place.
