Marshmallow Penguins

This recipe is for cute and tasty Marshmallow Penguins that are perfect for a fun treat for World Penguin Day or a themed party. The penguins are made from regular and mini marshmallows, chocolate, and orange and black candy melts or frosting. The marshmallows are coated in chocolate, decorated with eyes, beak, and black licorice strings or candy melts for the eyes, and assembled with chocolate-dipped wings and feet.

These adorable Marshmallow Penguins are easy to make and are sure to be a hit with kids and adults alike. They're a fun addition to any celebration and are great for bringing a smile to someone's face. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • Regular sized marshmallows
  • Mini marshmallows
  • Chocolate chips or chocolate candy melts
  • Orange candy melts or frosting
  • Black licorice strings or black candy melts

Instructions

    1. Melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 15 seconds until smooth.

    2. Dip one regular-sized marshmallow into the chocolate, making sure to coat it completely. Set it on a piece of wax paper to dry.

    3. Cut a mini marshmallow in half diagonally and dip each half into the chocolate. These will be the penguin's wings.

    4. Cut another mini marshmallow in half lengthwise and dip each half into the chocolate. These will be the penguin's feet.

    5. Use a toothpick to draw eyes and a beak onto the front of the penguin's body using the orange candy melts or frosting. If using candy melts, melt them according to package directions first.

    6. Cut two pieces of black licorice string or use black candy melts to create two small circles for the penguin's eyes. Press them onto the toothpick-drawn eyes.

    7. Use a toothpick to draw a line down the center of the penguin's body to create the division between the white and black feathers.

    8. Once the chocolate has hardened, use a bit of melted chocolate to attach the wings and feet to the penguin's body.

    That's it! These marshmallow penguins are not only cute and fun to make, but they're also a tasty treat that kids are sure to love.
