Have you considered offering Daily Notes for your childcare children? Well, years ago before I started my business when I interned at a daycare center, I was introduced to the practice of writing daily notes.
We wrote notes for all of the children in our room. The notes detailed and summarized a child’s day and were provided to the parents at pickup.
The notes also helped the care providers to keep up with many routine tasks. Like when diaper changes where needed or when the next scheduled feeding was for a baby.
Now I will not lie, sometimes it did seem like a lot of work those notes. But the parents really seemed to appreciate knowing what their child’s day had been like at daycare. And, as I said, it did help us keep track of the needs of each individual child.
Yeah, I know what you might be saying, “why are notes important? I already do a lot at the childcare. Why is offering Daily Notes good for my childcare business?”
Well, I’m glad you asked!
Here are some of the reasons why I think Daily Notes are a great thing for a childcare provider to offer.[Read more…] about Daily Notes In Childcare?

I am sure that my provider colleagues out there would agree that most of the time our clients do not really understand or empathize with our job. Sure they need us and may show their appreciation at times, but they don’t truly have a real understanding of what it takes to do our job. But what do daycare parents really need to know?
So after reading this post where Megan Elford asked other providers what they wished daycare parents knew, I was inspired to share ways that providers can better enlighten parents. I think parents should know just what it takes to be a childcare provider. The Why, What & How to tell parents what they need to know.
So I thought I would expand on Megan’s thought and try to figure out what parents really need to know but also just how to tell them.[Read more…] about What Daycare Parents Really Need to Know
